Certified Public Accountants (CPA) – Foundation Level

The CPA Foundation Level is the first stage of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) qualification as structured under the revised KASNEB syllabus, where the former CPA Section I and Section II were merged. This level provides learners with strong foundational knowledge in accounting, finance, business law, economics, quantitative methods, and information systems, as prescribed by KASNEB.

Entry Requirements (As Prescribed by KASNEB)

A learner is eligible to register for the CPA Foundation Level if they meet any one of the following KASNEB requirements:

• KCSE mean grade C+ (plus) and above, or
• ATD (Level III) qualification, or
• A degree from a recognized institution, or
• Any other qualification recognized by KASNEB as equivalent.

All learners must meet the entry requirements before registration with KASNEB.

KASNEB Registration Fee

All CPA Foundation students must register with KASNEB as candidates of the qualification.
The official KASNEB registration fee is Ksh 7,550 (payable once at initial registration).
