Course Description
Food and Beverage Service (Waiter) Level 3 – Course Overview (Uwezo College)
Uwezo College offers the Food and Beverage Service Level 3 course under the TVET-CDACC framework, designed to equip learners with the essential skills needed to work as professional waiters in the hospitality industry. This hands-on, competency-based program focuses on both technical service delivery and customer interaction, ensuring trainees are job-ready upon graduation.
The curriculum comprises three core units:
-
Food and Beverage Service – covering the principles and procedures of serving food and drinks in various settings, including restaurants, cafes, and hotels.
-
Food and Beverage Service Techniques – emphasizing table service, tray handling, setting tables, taking orders, and managing customer satisfaction.
-
Mocktails and Cocktails Preparation – introducing learners to the art of preparing and presenting non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages professionally and hygienically.
The training is practical in nature, giving learners real experience in setting up service areas, handling serving equipment, and interacting with guests in a simulated hospitality environment.
After completing the course content, students must undertake a 240-hour industrial attachment in a hospitality setting, such as a hotel, restaurant, or catering service. This real-world experience reinforces classroom learning and enhances employability.
This course is ideal for school leavers, hospitality beginners, or anyone seeking to enter the vibrant food and beverage service industry. Graduates are prepared to work as waiters, beverage attendants, or service assistants in a variety of establishments.
At Uwezo College, we go Beyond Training, preparing you to serve with skill, confidence, and professionalism.
