This course equips learners with essential ICT competencies necessary to support and operate ICT systems in modern workplaces.
The course is structured into two comprehensive modules.
Module I covers Computer Essentials and Computer Operations, including file management, online jobs, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, graphics, and collaboration tools.
Module II delves into more advanced areas—Computer Network Setup and Computer Repair & Maintenance—ensuring that trainees gain practical skills in cable termination, network device configuration, fault diagnosis, and hardware maintenance.
To reinforce classroom learning, students undergo 320 hours of mandatory industrial attachment, gaining real-world exposure in ICT environments. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on training, with 90% of assessment focused on practical skills, making graduates highly competent and job-ready.
Entry into the course requires a KCSE mean grade of E or a KNQF Level 3 certificate. Upon successful completion and demonstration of competence in all units, students earn a TVET Certificate in ICT Operations Level 4, with options for part qualifications via the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) pathway.
