Uwezo College offers the Network System Administration Level 6 course under the TVET-CDACC framework, designed to prepare learners for advanced roles in network systems design, implementation, security, and administration. This program equips students with both the technical expertise and professional skills needed to manage complex ICT networks and systems across a variety of industries.
The curriculum integrates basic competencies such as Computer Network Design, Computer Repair and Maintenance, Computer Network Setup, Computer Network Software Installation, Computer Network Security Configuration, Computer Network Maintenance, Computer Network Security Monitoring, Basic Electronics, Work Ethics and Practices, Discrete Mathematical Concepts, Computer System Administration
Communication Skills, Database Administration, System Virtualization and Entrepreneurial Skills.
The core of the program focuses on high-level competencies such as computer network design, network setup, software installation, network security configuration and monitoring, network maintenance, computer system administration, database administration, and system virtualization. These units reflect the real-world duties of a professional network system administrator.
Training is competency-based, with a strong emphasis on hands-on practical experience, including lab simulations, system configuration tasks, and a mandatory industrial attachment. This ensures graduates are not only academically prepared but also technically competent and industry-ready.
Graduates of this course are well-equipped for careers such as network administrators, systems engineers, IT infrastructure managers, or cybersecurity technicians. Entry requires a KCSE mean grade of C- (minus) or a recognized Level 5 qualification in ICT or its equivalent.
