Network System Technician Level 5 – Course Overview (Uwezo College)
Uwezo College offers the Network System Technician Level 5 course under the TVET-CDACC modular curriculum, designed to prepare learners for professional roles in computer networking and systems support. This hands-on, industry-aligned training program focuses on developing technical competencies necessary for designing, setting up, securing, and maintaining computer networks in dynamic work environments.
The curriculum is structured into four intensive modules. Module I builds foundational skills in computer applications, network design, and computer repair and maintenance. Module II advances into network setup and network software installation, equipping trainees with practical knowledge to implement network systems. Module III focuses on network security configuration and network maintenance, while Module IV covers network security monitoring, basic electronics, and work ethics and practices to ensure a holistic professional grounding.
The program comprises a total of 2,080 hours, including 480 hours of industrial attachment, and carries 208 credit factors. Assessment is competency-based, emphasizing practical mastery through formative and summative evaluations. Learners are evaluated on real tasks, with up to 90% of the score dedicated to hands-on performance.
Graduates of this course will be equipped to work as network administrators, IT support officers, or cybersecurity assistants, or to pursue further specialization in networking or systems administration.
