Grade 1 – Computer Operator (NITA)

Grade 1 in Computer Operator (GICT1) is a nationally recognized vocational training programme certified by the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). It is designed to equip learners with foundational and practical ICT skills necessary for effective computer operation, basic office computing, and routine digital tasks in modern workplaces. This course builds on basic computer literacy and prepares students for productive roles in data processing, office support, and ICT administrative functions.

Entry Requirements

• A pass in Computer Operator Grade 2 is required to register for Grade 1.

• Learners who have successfully completed the Grade 2 Computer Operator programme under NITA are eligible to enrol.

Duration & Certification

• Duration: 6 months (two terms) with structured training.

• On successful completion and passing the examinations, learners are awarded the NITA Grade 1 Computer Operator Certificate — recognised nationally.
